MEET YOUR HOST
Samantha Tulett
at the centre of
the City Slicker table.
I’m the recipe developer, drink-maker, cook and storyteller behind City Slicker, a food and drinks world hosted from my Sydney kitchen.
Here, modern comfort food meets Friday drinks, vintage cookbook experiments, honest taste tests and recipes that make people want to pull up a chair.
Good food. Good drinks. Great Company. Every time.
THE CITY SLICKER POINT OF VIEW
City Slicker is not just a recipe site.
It's food media with a point of view.
Modern, nostalgic, slightly glamorous, sometimes funny, always honest, and built for people who believe food should be delicious, beautiful, generous and never boring.
This is where a weeknight dinner can still feel like an event, a mocktail deserves as much attention as the cocktail, and a 1979 hospital ward cookbook can become the start of a very good story.
BEHIND THE HOST
I've always believed the best moments happen around food.
City Slicker started with the thing I have always done naturally: planning what to cook, thinking about what people will love, making the drink feel just as considered as the food, and turning a meal into something worth remembering.
I’m based in Sydney, but my food brain is always travelling. I’m drawn to recipes with crisp edges, creamy sauces, bright citrus, retro surprises, proper drinks, big flavours and a story worth telling.
Today, City Slicker is where all of that lives: original recipes I develop from scratch, Friday drinks made for both cocktail and mocktail people, and vintage cookbook gems from 1979 recreated with curiosity, humour and a very honest taste test.

HOSTED, COOKED AND TASTE-TESTED
By Samantha Tulett.
Every recipe on City Slicker is created with a clear point of view: it has to be worth your time, worth your ingredients and worth the space it takes up on your table.
I care about flavour, texture, balance, styling and story. I want the food to work, the drinks to sparkle, the images to make you hungry, and the whole thing to feel like a little escape.
Because good food content should do more than tell you what to cook.
It should make you want to cook.
That's the City Slicker standard.
A FEW THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
A little more about me.

I believe hot chocolate deserves more respect.
I will always choose a recipe with a good story.
Friday drinks should include something
delicious for everyone.
I love a vintage cookbook, especially when the instructions are slightly mysterious.
I want food to feel polished, generous and fun,
but never fussy for the sake of it.
I'm happiest when something is bubbling,
baking, chilling, or ready to be taste tested.
